This letter from Gerry Adams to Margaret Thatcher which was published in Fortnight in September 1989 made for interesting reading. ‘P.S. Give my regards to Douglas (Hurd). I enjoyed the last conversation Danny and he and I had together. I can see why you demoted him upwards.’
